Short course description:
Clinical computed tomography – from indication to optimal imaging and basic interpretation. Lectures and interactive case discussions.

The course language is English.

 

Course content:

  • The machine and basic physics
  • Optimizing of protocols based on clinical request
  • Reconstructions and windowing
  • Common artifacts and how they can be avoided
  • Indications and contraindications – when is CT the preferred modality and when is it not
  • Contrast media, indication, administration, contraindication and handling of acute emergencies related to adverse reactions
  • Optimal examination technique, normal variants and basic interpretation of patients with common diseases of the skull, brain, neck, spine, thorax, abdomen, portal venous system, urinary tract and musculoskeletal system
  • Brief presentation of advanced imaging – the future of CT in veterinary medicine?

 

Lecturers:
Tove Nielsen, 
DVM, DipECVDI. European specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. Worked exclusively with diagnostic imaging of all spieces and modalities at Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University Animal Hospital since 2009. Experienced in both clinical work as well as teaching of veterinary students and practicing veterinarians. Radiologist at Anicura Djursjukhuset Albano since 2015 and diplomate of the European college of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging since 2017.

Fees:
EUR 550 (excl VAT) for 1 person and 900 for team (excl VAT) of two persons. The fee includes course material, lunches, coffees and course dinner. Please note that hotel and travel costs are not included.
