Course description 
The course is intended for veterinarians and nurses wanting to learn more about wound healing and wound management in dogs and cats. The course is mainly theoretical but includes practical wet-labs, about handling wound dressing products, and dry-labs, regarding bandaging and bandaging products. The course is given in English and is arranged in collaboration with Swevet.

Applications to get the course approved for specialist programs are submitted.

Course content and learning objectives
After this course the participants will:
•Be able to assess the aspect of a wound
•Understand which processes shall be influenced in the specific wound
•Be familiar with products and methods influencing the wound process
•Understand why a product or method work, or not
•Manage to decide if a patient needs antibiotics
•Understand if a wound can heal
•Know the limitations of a specific treatment and know when to change treatment
•Manage preventing complications
•Be able to assess whether a surgery is required to heal an open wound
•Feel comfortable discussing the prognosis of the patient, with the owner
