Physiotherapy course

This course is for vet nurses with an interest in physiotherapy. You would benefit from having a good
understanding of anatomy and physiology and the core discipline “the musculoskeletal anatomy”.
Learn how to treat mobility problems caused by injury, post-surgery and ageing. Goal is to enhance
your current theory and practical assessment skills through complex cases with effective clinical
reasoning.

09.45 – 10.30 What are the aims of Clinical Practice Guidelines CPG.
Provide recommendations for the use of measurement, evaluation, outcome measures and tools used during a physiotherapist’s assessment of a dog.

10.45 – 12.00 Observations of a patient
Factors made during gait analysis and how to conduct indepth gait analysis on a patient. Palpation of muscle groups and bony landmarks to support the observations (theory and practical)

Lever movement arms, muscle groups, muscle actions and how gait patterns are achieved by the patient
